This is a heavy duty replacement oil pump outer cover that offers the strength to maintain oil pressure in racing applications when the stock cover can not. The OEM cover on the ZX-14 is well known to bow under pressure and leak, resulting in a pressure drop. The problem is compounded when the high-pressure check valve is used. The APE cover cannot flex, problem solved. This is required for any application where the oil pressure has been increased with an Oil Pressure Relief Valve.
